A bit about your tutor:
Emine, who created Silverkupe jewellery couple of years ago, is a designer/maker of contemporary jewellery. She combines traditional silversmithing techniques with silver clay techniques. She has a background in landscape design and 3D modelling and teaching these skills. Her pieces reflect architectural and minimalist motifs and she uses distinctive textures and patinas.
Emine utilises diverse techniques such as Mokume Gane and mixing different materials (copper, silver, gold and concrete) to achieve unique high end-products. Every new piece she creates is an experiment and as her style evolves she pushes her own creative boundaries.
She is a member of Network Artists North East, Association for Contemporary Jewellery, and The Craft Council. She sells her work across the North East within six galleries and arts and crafts shops. She will be part of the Christmas selling exhibition titled ‘Gifted’ at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland this winter and her work also be exhibited during the Christmas selling event at the Shetland Arts’ Bonhoga Gallery.
She will be also exhibiting at the British Trade Craft Fair in April 2019 which will be her second time at this event. She also organises silver clay workshops to share the joy of creating jewellery with others in many Art Galleries in the North East.
