Talk: Coquet Island – a place for Puffins and their Pals on Saturday 24th May 7pm at Dry Water Arts (doors 6.30pm) Dr Paul Morrison and George Martin will give a talk about Coquet Island and its wonderful wildlife – including everyone’s favourite bird: the Puffin.Book online at Cost £3.50
Sunday 25th May
Puffin Fly By
Dry Water artists Paula Turner and Frances Anderson will be taking puffin kite making workshops to each of Amble’s primary schools in the run up to the festival. Making kites to celebrate the iconic Puffin and also diving into the significance of Puffins to our town and to global ecology.
Children from the schools will then be invited to take part in a puffin kite fly by on Sunday at 2pm on the Braid as part of the puffin festival weekend. Let’s see how many puffin kites we can get into the air (weather dependent of course)
Saturday and Sunday 24th / 25th May
Dry Water will also be working with a group of generous volunteers to create the Rainbow Harbour at Little Shore .A vibrant display of colourful community banners “ It’s as colourful as a Puffin’s beak”
Interactive Puffin Percussion from Dry Water Arts - Market Square all weekend . Come and have a go & get ready for some impromptu soundscapes, a puffin symphony, a puffin polka. See if you can make Tommy Noddy the Puffin dance !!
