Miwa Nagato-Apthorp & Jenny Biddle 16th May 7pm (doors 6.30pm)  are a brand new Scottish Borders–based duo blending roots, folk and song-driven storytelling with warmth, grit and heart.

Aussie songwriter and seasoned guitarist Jenny Biddle brings feisty blues and roots grooves, ingenious re-workings of popular singalong-songs, and a dusting of country for the wandering soul. Alongside her, Miwa Nagato-Apthorp, described as a “visceral new voice in Scottish folk”, draws on folk traditions to explore multicultural understandings of history, climate, gender and home, giving voice to stories often left unheard.

Together, they weave guitar, piano, harmonies and amusing stage banter into an entertaining evening that feels both intimate and expansive. Their shared repertoire of original songs is rich with depth, curiosity and a strong spirit of friendship.
