Telling Stories with Shadows - 3rd October 10.30 - 3.30

Shadows provided humans with some of the earliest means of telling stories and representing their experience. Explore the possibilities of using shadow puppetry to tell your own stories in this inspiring workshop one-day workshop. Learn some techniques for creating shadow puppets; scenes and stories for live performance and film with puppeteer Alison McGowan. 

Alison has used puppets and shadows in her work for more than twenty years. She has created numerous shadow films with theatre companies, community groups and schools and is passionate about the power of this simple, timeless art-form to engage audiences of all ages.

Beyond the workshop, the skills you learn will be an important part of our town's final magical performance in November! Your handmade puppets  and  or even your own body  shadow moves could take centre stage, helping to bring our community's stories to life. It's an opportunity to contribute your creativity to a  series of magical events in and around Amble
