Life interrupted
Artist Talk - Friday 18th July 6.30pm
Local Amble artist Sandra Totterdell is an experimental mixed media artist exploring themes of loss, grief and resilience.
This is her first solo exhibition since returning home .
Sandra’s creative journey began suddenly in 2006 –amongst chaos and life changing trauma . Sandra often works outside seeking remote, ancient and spiritual places .
Working organically and abstractly her work grows in layers and textures , Sandra uses her experience of physical and mental challenges to capture intangible thoughts and emotions
Notes from artist -
It is about the confusion arising from the aftermath of trauma. It’s that feeling of uncertainty and of literally losing the thread of life and becoming unravelled.
At the same time life continues - time moves forward, relentlessly sliding on into the future regardless of whether I’m ready or not.
Dry Water are a working creative space and opening hours vary week by week so please call for viewing times.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with the North East Combined Authority as the Lead Authority.
